I'm back. And I think a huge apology is in order. But first, a big send out of love and gratitude for the comments and the new follows. I cannot hide that I have been recently detached from my cyberlife, and I cannot wait to catch up on my favourite folk and newcomers, but the best way to continue with life is to continue routine, especially with the things that make you happy - and being part of this blogger life really does give me reason to smile.

So I'm posting a quick look from my first Summer outing after the snow. Lunch at Little Creatures on Brunswick Street with the besty Dee (also my travel companion ha). A mass of photographs remain from Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and my travels through Turkey. I'm sure they will pop up on here soon in small snippets - but not before I have done a huge culling down from the thousands.

Here's my cheesy part: I have spent the last three months of my life in a complete state of self-discovery and inspiration. Through art, music, culture, food (OH FOOD), family, history, new and old friends and strangers, I have been given the extrodinary gift of time in a timeless city - time to reflect and move forward.

Two weeks ago I took off from Istanbul for Melbourne - but I'm afraid my heart did not follow. I have left fragments of myself scattered throughout the twisted, dusty and snow covered cobblestones. As sad as it is to admit, I am still struggling to place myself together even now. I am back on routine with work and uni, but also re-discovered my motivation for past hobbies along with my photography and writing. I am blessed to have amazing friends and family that distract me from my thoughts, and I know I will crawl out of the travel blues. My hopes are to return to my second home very soon...both for work and pleasure...but will keep you all informed in good time.

Self-comfort and reassurance lies within possibility, and knowing now-more so than before -that anything can happen...

Before the overload of photographs I thought I'd do a quick two day look post from the 24th and 25th of November in Paris ;) ohh it was amazing, the overcast was such a beautiful match to the landmarks and landscapes and my new Mango coat from Istanbul saved my freezing butt! So sorry for the delay and cannot wait to be in touch with you all. Back in Istanbul for now but leaving to another city tonight so back to the airport soon! Love to all you lovely people xx

I know it's an overload but this is an extreme snippet of my first week in the motherland with relatives, friends, and lot's of fresh-breeze air and food. Though I swear, although my slr hardly leaves my paws, I still left a lot to memory. Tomorrow Dee and I are off to my aunty in Germany, right before we arrive in Paris on Wednesday night ;) Mr Macbook won't join so will see you all in a few weeks!

When Melbourne heats and I'm stuck in at work, sandals, linen and statement necklaces are my classic corporate options. Okay, so I was a little lazy with effort but oh so comfortable. Today is meant to heat to 30 degrees, knowing Melbourne however, it should collapse into a rainy heap sometime soon. Not all good things last with our weather ;)

Last Saturday's (extremely) last minute procrastination glory!

When I rang up my friend in the middle of our homework session I just whined about how I would get out of the house and abuse the amazing weather....what did she say in return...'ohhh nooo Yeliz, I want to join you' and so we went, and naughty us called up another friend who very happily pulled away from assignmenting and joined in Fitzroy at The Tramway Hotel in the gorge Melbourne breeze...it was absolute freaking bliss.

My folks got back Friday night. After six weeks can you believe? Already! The weekend has been such a blur of colour and gifts, videos and photographs. Reminds me of how much I'm going to see when I jet set in a month. I'll get to miss them again too ;)

My father just loves it. This time as I will be traveling solo at first, so I want to see if I can control the over urge to over pack by planning ahead with essential and minimal pieces. Though this is all important on the way there, I can not account for how much comes back with me. Hence why I must resist filling valuable space ;)

This haul has been long over due, couple of shots from last month but most have been taken since I've been living out of home. The orchards are from my own garden though when I went to check things out last weekend, so I took some snaps for my folks. The second last shot of the gold/silver bangle was a birthday gift when I was 13 by my grandparents in Turkey, mum had it hidden away and took it out before she head off overseas. I am officially in re-love with it. The 'S' biscuits are lemon shortbread and I made them for my parents going away dinner. It was a fluke the recipe was for this shape - I honoured it to our surname ;)

So, I am yet to introduce my lovely followers to my latest little project blog, and I thought I'd start with the first video I have ever directed and edited...

Fashessence is my new blog for my University assignment....yes, fashion blogging for uni...but with a twist. I wanted to take fashion news, style and trend from Melbourne and create stories that are fresh and some what unique to us. This video is my second post and I am dying to hear your thoughts....

The boom of vintage inspired fashion can no longer be denied. With inspiration sweeping through from the 80′s punk to the 50′s rockabilly trend and beyond. If you have paid some close attention to trends of late you will find some 90′s staple items seeping back in to the markets. Tapered trousers with high-waist pleats, midi and maxi skirts and buttons up shirts with simple and small knits and cardigans to match.

Recycled clothing – or so called ‘op-shopping’ derived from ‘oppertunity’ shops – are no longer affordable alternatives for simple garments. They are gold mines for the thriving population of vintage lovers and hunters, second-hand clothing enthusiasts, and fashionistas alike.

In this post we visit one of the largest secondhand clothing retailers in the state and the first of its kind in Australia. Brunswick Savers has been operating as head quarters for 12 years and with one of the highest turnovers in store there’s no denying that the fad is stronger then ever.

I caught with Dee Varel who has worked at Savers for the past five years. In the video below Dee takes us around store, gives us some insight on the latest looks and offers tips for how Melbourne girls can get on the trend.

Just Friday's work attire, when it gets sunny I can't help but fool my self into thinking I'm in Europe and well deserving of some colour in my wardrobe, so goes this dress, about ten sizes too big for me but all sorted with the right belt; my gold designer thrift. Crazy week down, crazier weekend and even more ahead. My folks have landed in the mother land for a much deserved break. For six weeks I'll be put to the test of independence. If work & uni were out of the equation I would throw my hands up in a glorious rage. But I love having my parents around when the tough times begin BUT I hope they have an incredible time in holiday.

If you loves remember a while back I had the pleasure of seeing the magical production of Love Never Dies on stage in Melbourne. I had this article sitting around for a while prepared for my online university magazine but there was an epic mix up over the break and it's just gotten too late. It's still running so if you're in Melbourne OR London for that matter then please do see it. Been dying to share this review with you guys so hope you all enjoy. The only thing haunting about the musical production of Love Never Dies was the taunted love of the Phantom himself. I witnessed his suffering and the brilliance of the sequel to The Phantom of the Opera.

The stage set of the Regent Theatre in Melbourne was strung high with dim light bulbs, thick ropes and wooden planks and bridges. They twisted and turned above the first front rows. Imaginations were already alight before opera Love Never Dies had begun. An entire world had been created on stage, consuming and complimenting the classic theatre.

Love Never Dies is the sequel to the longest running Broadway production in the world, an Andrew Lloyd Weber invention that debuted in London March 2010. A year later the opening date was set for the Australian production - directed by Simon Phillips (Priscilla Queen of the Desert). Debuting in May, Melbourne became the second city in the world to host this musical wonder.

The audience sat in muted anticipation as a dim and hazy light shone down on the black cape and white mask of the Phantom – the shallow echo of his voice and the shrill of each organ note rang out as a signal of anguish and pain. The Phantom (played by the brooding Ben Lewis) sung of his long torment: an infatuated love of white-skinned Parisian singer Christine Daaé (played by Anna O’Byrne).

The Phantom had lost his love once in Paris 10 years ago, after he drove her away in passionate rage in The Phantom of the Opera. Love Never Dies continues the story at the turn of the 19th century when Christine sets ashore in Manhattan to perform on the stage at the bedazzling Coney Island. Unbeknown to his presence and once again, cunning lure.

Despite the haunting tale, the production was met with a kaleidoscope of sheer and shameless beauty. The quirky and bedazzling theatre of Coney Island gleamed with stand out characters on a spinning and shifting platform – to describe the element of creative genius that accompanied each costume; each prop and each expression would do no justice to each performer. Sparks of song, sound and characters from the first story reappeared on stage, allowing it to twist and turn within a glorious blur of the new. The cast and characters enveloped a set that no longer felt or looked like it was built on a stage.

For me, this musical stood on its own and far from the story of its century-old predecessor. The ending did, however, lack the intensity and conclusiveness a sequel requires. And it’s safe to assume that there is not much flexibility to collaborate on a third installment

In October, The Phantom of the Opera will celebrate 25 years of production and making entertainment history. Diverse audiences – both young and old – have been in the presence of the story, just as I witnessed in the audience of Love Never Dies. As the lights dimmed, I couldn’t help but feel as though we were already making history once again and that this love for entertainment would certainly live on.

Although I am yet to witness The Phantom of the Opera on stage, even without, Love Never Dies flowed without difficulty and etched its rightful place in my memory and its humble place in Melbourne’s entertainment archive.

A little looksie from earlier this week, introducing you guys to my all time favourite blazer and my favourite find I picked up from the Salvos for pennies without even trying on. The first week of semester is down so finding joy in clothing is ultimate - and the colour and pattern here does wonders for my mood. I'm overloading and possibly in over my head with the amount of work coming up, but this is the final leg...yet again, and I am determined to stride through. Tough times ahead, but you only earn pleasure in life through certain struggles. I learn that every single day I'm alive and breathing. I am blessed because of this.

You guys give me all the more reason to remain positive and take a break every so often, so thank you dears :)

HELLO LAST SATURDAY BEFORE UNI STARTS! Yes, the final weekend, the holiday over, how ultra-sad this makes me BUT oh so ready to rock another semester, be motivated and create new goals. Yes Yeliz, now that's a slightly less dull outlook :)

Super duper quickie for you lovely people. I owe this blog some love - I know - so I promise to bombard all your lives soon. Although, with uni on the horizon, starting Monday in fact ~~bleurgh~~ I'm not sure what the deal will be :( but it will call for plenty of down time, meaning plenty of blog time :) This is such a bargain outfit, with everything brought on sale and the scarf was clearly free as I stole it from mum. Doesn't it count if she stopped wearing it in the 80s?

There's a snap of my mini-coffee session with mum and aunty yesterday, they had to head down to the travel agent in Camberwell, and I popped along to arrange my preliminary travel itinerary, BUT will explain in more detail very soon. AND some orchards from the garden to brighten you all up.

Daniel Radcliffe in Dazed & Confused November 2010 Issue

I've had these shots for a while, one of his most daring and horrific shoots, and I think now is the perfect time to share. Harry Potter has been and will be the longest companion in my childhood, it killed me to watch it end again with the final movie. But the on-screen and written stories are now part of history and history never dies. If you have seen Daniel in interviews or apart from the Harry Potter franchise, he seems modestly down-to-earth and insanely witty. Oh and as much as I am a Ron fan also, Dan is seriously getting better with age ;)

This look should really be titles 'Frizzy Winter Blues' - that became the state of my hair the moment I walked out of home yesterday, so please excuse the oh-so-nasty do. Come to think of it, as of late, although I hardly do a thing to style my hair, the weather still insists on messing with my head - and hair - in any way. Oh, suppose things could be worse. But I'm bright eyed through the Wintery haze at the moment. I'll fill you in soon ;)

For now I'll tell you about this look. Not too exciting aside from the fact I get to share one of my favourite items with all my lovelies: my electric blue blazer; my four dollar op-shop find in beaut quality and brilliant fit. Kind of makes my greys brighter and my blacks all white. In other words, pure joy. My ottoman-inspired ring is my stand out favourite piece of silver jewelry, it's from the Istanbul Grand Bazaar and part of my mini-collection I hope to grow when I head back again. Soon I hope ;)

I really hate working full time during the week, I mean, I am supposed to be on holiday, having a break and browsing all my favey blogs and responding to all my lovely followers.....but the past two weekends have been a blur to catch up on...so, I think an apology is in order. However, I will try and make up for my lack of creativity with a few snaps from the first ten days of the second half of 2011 :)

Amongst some of my snaps is the garbage bag look-a-like sale package that arrived from ASOS, my black boots I dusted off after re-discovering them in my wardrobe, my mutated chocolate-chunk muffins, an accidentally burnt mini-pancake, my dads seafood concoction, oh, and rain drops...because rain is second nature to Melbourne at the moment and although it's a bit of a bother, it makes for lovely art :)

Happy 1st of July dears, where did half this year ago I can't very much summon the energy to remember. But is has been another adventure, another learning curve, another 6 month spurt of a decade. Nothing special today, just a little look from before I went out last night. End of university exams party, yes I know I finished weeks ago but it was a grand chance to catch up with friends and freeze. Oh, and get my clothing covered in the stench of cigarette smoke. Worse then ever too :(

But still, any night out is just as good as a night in, so no complaints. I'm such a sad old sod hehe ;)

This a seriously rushed look for the simple purpose of showing you guys my new vintage knit. I found it in a vintage clothing store in Brunswick, quiet a well-known vintage shop with an amazing collection of staple pieces and accessories that I can hardly fathom to afford. But it was the colour , the knit and the shoulder pads on this that had me at HELLOOMGLOOKATYOU!

The title of this is lyrics from Coldplay's latest track Every teardrop is a waterfall. FYI, they're my favourite rock band and I'm so glad they're around to get me through the winter blues.

I miss my three bff's something crazy atm, so plenty of working, reading, writing, blogging and the very much needed catch-ups with other friends is keeping me smiling. Life should just make you smile. And I refuse to ever take the beautiful things I have for granted. Have a lovely weeks dears.

First of all, sorry for this photo overload but my recent absence from my blog must be explained - visually too I might add. Seen as three of my dearest friends were parting with me on overseas holidays I took a trip with my other favourite ladies - my mother and my aunt. It was a breezy and lazy weekend away by the sea, shopping, eating and sharing all forms of conversation. Yes, it is usually me that is somewhere over the ocean this time of year, but work needs to be done and inspiration must be found closer to home this time. After all, Melbourne still has four seasons in a day, so it's almost like being on a holiday.....YEA!

Hello all, just a quick little spill on the latest issue of Frankie Magazine...I got my hands on this about a month ago and lent it to my friend to take overseas with her BUT not before snapping some photos of the pages of my favourite little section from Issue 41. I fell completely in love with this spread on quirky, unique and utterly beautiful little wedding themes and settings. From post World War I to a Mumford & Sons country wedding, the shots and article are all over gorgeous. Inspiration for those thinking of getting on the wagon any time soon ;)

My nearest and dearest friend Dee left for our mother land yesterday. It will be her first over-seas trip. As much as it has saddened me that I could not go with her, or that I won't be with her for four weeks, I am so happy that she will experience this journey she has intended to for a long time coming. So, Friday night we headed to Blue Chillies on Brunswick Street - my fellow Melburnians, you must follow suite. Dinner was intimate and oh soo good, and dessert with just the girlies was the cherry on top!

For those of you who don't know, I have an infatuation with classic novels & authors.

So, when my friend sent me a review of the new movie adaptation of Jane Eyre I knew it would be my next love affair. Till I can get my hands on the movie here, I have these beautiful shots from the April issue of W Magazine to dream about. Michael Fassbender & Mia Wasikowska are flawless and so charming - I'm getting butterflies just thinking about it. YES, I'm a slightly sad case, but how can you not love the story AND THAT GOWN!

My dear and sweet readers I must apologise for my lack in creativity the past few weeks. University has me by the ankles and study is the word. If all goes to plan, then the universe will be back to a slightly more pleasurable state within a week :)

Please forgive me and accept this slightly less exciting post. BUT the Melbourne sun came out to play so I had to throw on the leather and chucks for uni and share with you before I dozed off (studying back at uni till 11pm can have that effect HA.)

Today was my last day of classes for semester. Someone stop the clock because I have NO clue where time has gone and is going!
